Your shoes must be cleaned and conditioned regularly to preserve the leather and make your shoes last a long time. They can also be resoled repeatedly by you(!) or a good shoe repair in your area. Cleaning can be as simple as wiping them off with a damp cloth. Make sure to remove any salt right away. Lexol products and Neetsfoot oil are good choices for basic leather care. This includes care for your bag or belt as well. We are now selling products in our store at the school and can provide you with several different options. Products with beeswax are good, like Sno-Sealfor water repellents. Apply oils and waxes when the shoes are warm from your feet and the application will go deeper into the leather. We do not prefer or recommend silicone products.
