Not everyone can find tall boots to fit their feet or calves–this is a 3 day workshop where we show you how to build a pair of tall boots for yourself (and ultimately for others) from start to finish. There are a number of styles to choose from. We teach an outstitch technique which allows for a maximum of 1/2 inch heel. Comfort and fit are our specialties and we’re happy to hold this workshop twice a year for our students. 4 students max. We will schedule more boot classes if demand warrants. We prefer students to have already taken the Beginning Shoemaking course, but we can make some exceptions for out-of-towners.
For those of you who’ve made more than one pair of shoes, it’s a chance to expand your range of shoemaking with a particular focus on how to pattern for the ankle and leg.
Tuition includes all materials. Special choices of sole material and hardware may be purchased on site as extras.
